PERCEPTION BOOK IS HOTTER THAN "POWER RANGERS"
Ugly scenes were reported at email servers around the world as
hundreds of desperate vision scientists tried to get in on the offer
of an almost free copy of Perception, vol 8 of the Handbook of
Sensory Physiology (1978). Jeremy Wolfe, last seen buried under
about 250 requests for books, was heard to exclaim "Stop, stop....We
will try to get Springer to send us the last 150 copies in their stock
but we won't be able satisfy everyone."
Later, in a statement released from an undisclosed location, Wolfe
said:
Thanks for all of your messages. I had to give up on individual
responses after the first 30 or so. We will send out all the books
that we get, when we get them. If you get lucky and get a book, it
will come with a note saying how much you owe us. You can send us a
check at that point. If you did not send an address, your chances of
getting a book would improve if you did send one.
