Two post-doctoral positions are available in the Department of
Ophthalmology, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
1. Applications are invited from candidates to study the effects of a
number of ocular and systemic drugs on retinal and optic nerve head
haemodynamics. Effects of non-pharmacological techniques to modulate blood
flow on visual function will also be studied. This work is part of ongoing
investigations on the risk factors for glaucomatous optic neuropathy.
Applicants should have a strong background in ocular physiology and/or
pharmacology, though applications from individuals with other suitable
backgrounds are also invited.
2. Applications are invited from candidates to study the ocular and
systemic risk factors for the progression of open-angle glaucoma in a
multi-centre Canadian study. Applicants should have a strong background in
epidemiology and statistics in addition to computer programming skills.
Previous experience in clinical trials is also desirable. While applicants
with exposure to research in vision and ophthalmology are preferred,
applications from other suitable backgrounds are also invited.
Both positions are available from 31 March 1995 for a duration of 1-2
years. Salary range is $28-32 K. Candidates should submit an introductory
