Lectureship in Neuroscience

The Centre for Neuroscience and Department of Pharmacology of the University
of Edinburgh invite applications for a tenure-track Lectureship in
Neuroscience. The preferred area of expertise is Systems Neuroscience ie.
the analysis of information processing by the brain with respect to sensory
or motor systems, motivation, emotion, memory, or other aspects of higher
brain function. Candidates would be expected to set up their own independent
research laboratory and those with expertise in neurophysiology,
neuropsychology, behavioural neuroscience or psychophysics would complement
existing strengths.
The Lecturer would be expected to take part in teaching undergraduate courses
in neuroscience, presently Brain and Behaviour 3 and Neuroscience 4.
Candidates must have a good honours degree in a relevant subject, a doctoral
qualification, and provide evidence of their ability to publish and attract
external funding. The appointment will be on the Lecturer scale (up to
25,735).
