Post-Doctoral Position for 1995-96
Applications are now being accepted for a postition to be filled on or
after July 1, 1995. Funded by the National Eye Institute of the National
Institutes of Health, the Training Program in Vision Science trains
post-doctoral scientists who have O.D., M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral
degrees wishing to pursue active research careers in the field of vision.
(Individuals not holding the Ph.D. may apply but are required to enter the
Graduate Program in Vision Science to obtain that degree. Applicants must
be either U.S. citizens or permanent residents.)
The training faculty includes vision scientists in a range of disciplines
including vision science, optometry, psychology, neuroscience, molecular
and cell biology, electrical engineering , bioengineering, chemistry,
physics, and biostatistics. Research facilities are outstanding and
participating investigators have strong, well-funded research programs.

The appointment is one year in length. Appointees are encouraged by NIH to
apply for an individual NRSA post-doctoral fellowhip for an additional one
or two years of research training support. Stipends are NIH standard based
on years of experience. Tuition and fees for individuals seeking the Ph.D.
are paid for by the grant. Applications from women and minorities are
encouraged.
