THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH
And even then there isn't enough to go around
Remember that offer of an almost free copy of Vol 8
of the Handbook of Sensory Physiology (Perception)?
About 350 of you asked for copies. Here is the story.
There are about 125 copies at the warehouse. Springer
wants a fair amount of money to mail them to us and
then we have to mail them to the lucky winners. As a
result, this "free" book will cost $20. (Now I understand
those "postage and handling" lines on bills.). If we end
up with extra money, we will give it to some worthy cause
(NEI, NSF, ???)
I don't want to pay to have the books shipped to us if it
turns out that $20 is more than anyone cares to send. SO....
if you are still interested please send me the an email with
"YES-I WANT TO PAY $20"
in the subject line
and
Just your address
in the body of the message. The hold your breath and wait
to see if you get lucky. Don't send money (yet).
If you are no longer interested send me an email that says
"NO-$20 ISN'T FREE"
in the subject line (or some such message)
Thanks
