University Research Fellowship in Vision

The Centre for Computational and Cognitive Neuroscience, in
conjunction with the Department of Psychology is able to appoint
a suitably qualified post-doctoral research fellow with interests
in psychophysical and computational vision.

The post will be hosted in the Centre for Computational and Cognitive
Neuroscience, which has well-equipped laboratories for psychophysical
and computational research. Our main computer system is a network
of high performance X-Windows HP workstations, which are used for
computational research. In addition we have many Macs, PCs etc that
are used for psychophysics. Further details, including brief

The University of Stirling is placed on the edge of the Highlands
of Scotland close to wilderness areas with excellent opportunities for
hill-walking, climbing, skiing, whisky tasting, canoeing and other
healthy pursuits (not necessarily in that order). The campus is set
in beatiful grounds, complete with a castle, lochs and steep hillsides.
The view from the windows of our Centre are amongst the most
spectacular from a University Department anywhere.

The appointment is offered for up to 3 years and will be on the
standard Research Salary Scale 1A (UKL14317 to UKL21519 per annum).
The post is available from any time after 1st September 1995.
The appointee will be expected to show a considerable degree of
independence in research, and is expected to have a record of published
research already. Funds are available for equipment and for
conference travel. The appointee will be encouraged to seek further
funding.
