DISPARITY PROCESSING and VERGENCE EYE MOVEMENTS

Postdoctoral Fellowship is available in the Vision Sciences Group of the
School of Optometry, University of California at Berkeley to work with
Clifton Schor. The current project is to investigate feature selectivity
in human stereopsis and vergence eye movements such as occlusion cues,
positional disparity, and independent monocular cues to depth perception
and vergence control. The general goal of the project is to model the
transient and sustained components of sensory and motor aspects of
binocular vision. Opportunities are available to develop new research
projects in this area.

Facilities available include Binocular SRI eye tracker, search coil, head
mounted binocular eye movement monitor, Cambridge research graphics system,
Sparc 10, Pentium and Macintosh systems. Experienced programming of
Macintosh and IBM PC computers preferred. Requirements: Ph.D., training in
psychophysics or physiology of the visual system. Salary negotiable
depending on years of post-doctoral experience. Funding available for 3
years.
