The State University of New York, State College of
Optometry, invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice
President for Academic Affairs (Academic Dean). The Dean is responsible
for the quality and academic administration of the O.D., M.S., Ph.D.,
Residency and Continuing Professional Education programs. The Dean
reports directly to the College President. The institution seeks an
individual with experience in curricular planning, administration, and
management in academic optometry. Effective interpersonal and
leadership skills are essential. An O.D. degree is required; an
advanced academic degree is desirable. The candidate must have a firm
commitment to the academic programs, research, and the clinical mission
of the institution, with the energy and vision to carry the College
successfully into the next century. The successful candidate must
occupy the position no later than September 1996. Letters of
