Seeking Information on Nutrition and the Prevention of Eye Diseases
Dear Colleagues:
A friend of mine (Dr. Robert Abel) is an ophthalmologist who is
interested in the possibilities of using nutrition to minimize or prevent
eye diseases among people in Central and South America. To do so, he wants
to develop a scientific bibliography documenting connections between
nutritional deficits and visual problems. As he is not in research
himself, he contacted me as a source for the scientific literature.
However, my vision interests and background are devoid of relevant
information on nutrition and vision. Therefore, I am asking any of you who
know of relevant sources, particularly recent review articles or texts, to
please send me the information, which I shall in turn pass on to Dr. Abel.
He is a very dedicated person who hopes to further preventive medicine in
ophthalmology.
