POST-DOCTORAL POSITION - RETINAL CIRCUITRY
Post-doctoral position available 1st September, 1995, to work with Steve
Massey on the Molecular Biology of Gap Junctions in the Mammalian
Retina. This research is supported by NEI. We now know that several
connexins are expressed in the retina and the next job is to identify and
localize them. Training will be provided in retinal physiology and
pharmacology, immunocytochemistry and confocal microscopy. A strong
background in molecular biology is preferred. The position is funded at the
NIH scale for post-docs.
The Vision Group at UT-Houston is thriving and there is a strong
Neuroscience community. We have just joined the Department of
Ophthalmology and Visual Science at UT Medical School in Houston and
we will soon move into newly renovated lab space. In addition, we have
just aquired a Zeiss LSM 410 confocal microscope which is being installed
in the department.
