A postdoctoral position is available to study the biological mechanisms
underlying the development of axial myopia. The project is specifically
concerned with investigating the changes in scleral metabolism and
structure in highly myopic eyes. The succesful applicant will have
experience and skills in studying extracellular matrix metabolism,
tissue culture and or molecular biology techniques.
The post is based in the department of Optometry & Vision Sciences in Cardiff
U.K. The succesful applicant will join a multidsiciplinary lab. The post is
available from Sept 1, 1995 and is for 18 months in the first instance.
Salary is on the Research 1A scale up to approx 17,800 pounds sterling.
