Postdoctoral Position in Neurobiology
on circadian photoreception

INSERM U371, Lyon FRANCE

=====================================================

A postdoctoral position is available for a one year period (renewable 1
year) in the field of neurobiology of circadian rhythms within the framework
of a Human Frontier Science Programme. Our current area of research is
focused on the organization of the retino-hypothalamic pathway
(photoreceptors, ganglion cells and central pathways) using quantitative
neuroanatomical methods, electrophysiology, viral tract tracing,
neuropeptide immunohistochemistry and c-fos. The research project will
concern the response characteristics of cells in the SCN and IGL. In
particular we are interested in relating spatial and spectral response
properties of the photic system to neuroanatomical and behavioral results.
The study will deal with both rodents (normal and visually degenerate
species) and primate species. The applicant should have experience in the
fields of electrophysiology and neuroanatomy. The lab environment is
international (French, American, English, German). French is not necessary,
but some knowledge of the language is useful. Salary will depend on
qualifications. Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae to :
