PART-TIME RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION. Available immediately.
Psychophysical testing of naive subjects to measure macular pigmentation and
other ocular parameters relevant to understanding the biology of the fovea
and prevention of disease. Prefer person with experience doing
psychophysics with Maxwellian view optical systems. This would be an
excellent opportunity for a graduate student needing some financial support
to pursue their training. With appropriate initiative, there would also be
the possibility of coauthoring original publications. Require commitment of

Focus on biology and psychology of the fovea, with emphasis on functions of
macular pigment and effects of nutritional manipulation. Both humans and
monkeys are being studied. Applicants are expected to have expertise in
anatomy or psychophysics with an interest in learning about this area of
