The Laboratoire de Physiologie de la Perception et de l'Action
in Paris is currently seeking applications for a postdoctoral
position in visual sciences. This position is opened to
European students from outside France.
The LPPA's research program is devoted to the physiology of
the perception and control of movement. In the LPPA, the
group of Visual Psychophysics studies the visual perception
of motion and 3D shape, with particular emphasis on the
integration of multisensory information (related to
self-motion for instance). Techniques include computer
simulations of theoretical schemes, as well as psychophysical
experimentation with use of real time simulation of the
observer's motion in a visual environment.
The candidate will have the responsability to conduct
a research program on 3D vision including technical aspects
of recording human movements with on line presentation of
visual environments.
Candidates should have a PhD, or expect to receive one before
August 1996. They should have a strong background in computational
approaches, a good practice of computer systems, and a motivation
for interdisciplinary work. Mathematics, electronics, psychophysics
skills would also be appreciated.
Candidates should send their CV and publications before November 30th to:
