Internet Ophthalmology Society
The Internet Ophthalmology Society (IOS) is an on-line group that wants to
establish and improve the connections between Ophthalmologists and
Physicians around the world.
The objectives of the Internet Ophthalmology Society include the
advancement of knowledge (on an international level) on the function of the
eye, on the prevention and cure of eye diseases, and on the process of
vision.
There is no subscription fee.

The members of IOS will receive a periodic E-Mail bullettin and they will
be able to communicate each other by a newsgroup (vol.med.eyedoc).

The first initiative of the Internet Ophthalmology Society is the
organization of the First International Congress of the IOS (15th-30th
September 1996).
This meeting will be entirely held in Internet.
The final program will be available at the end of March 1996 and it will be
E-mailed to the members.
It will be possible to send abstracts and contributions only by E-Mail or
diskette (Mac or Ibm).
During the Congress the abstracts will be published on the Net (World Wide
Web) and at the end of the Congress a book will be printed and sent to the
participants.
