Applied Vision Association Annual Conference 1996
"From Sensation to Visual Perception"
1-3 April 1996, University of Reading, UK
The growth in our understanding of the early processes in human vision is
suggesting constraints on our explanations of the later stages of vision,
which are attracting increasing attention from the machine vision as
well as the biological vision communities. The meeting will bring
together different areas of vision research which can contribute to an
understanding of these problems.
The provisional programme includes sessions on eye-movements and
attention, spatial vision, modelling, clinical studies, colour, and
motion perception. There will be a poster/demonstration session, combined
with a reception, on the evening of April 1st, for which submissions are still
possible. The AVA committee will award one or more prizes of 50 pounds
(depending on numbers), for the best poster(s)/demonstration(s) by
post-graduates.
Professor Ken Nakayama, Harvard University, will give the Geoffrey J
Burton memorial lecture on April 2nd.
To be put on the mailing list for a provisional programme, a registration
form, and more information about the meeting, please contact:
