Applications are invited for a research studentship leading to a PhD
degree in Psychology in the area of human vision supervised by Dr.
Harvey Smallman. The studentship is to start in October 1996. The
successful applicant will be expected to hold a good degree

Research topics that could be supervised include using visual
psychophysics in normals to ask questions about the processing of
binocular disparities and the linearity of early visual processing.

At the Centre for Vision and Visual Cognition (CVVC) there are
excellent opportunities for eye movement recording and for working with
brain-damaged subject groups.

For further information and application forms please contact Dr.
Smallman. Electronic mail is preferred. If you have access to the World
Wide Web (WWW), you might want to try accessing my home page
(http://www.dur.ac.uk/~dps0hss/homepage.html) for more details.

Applications will be considered until the end of March.
