Post-doc positions available at Osaka Bioscience Institute in Japan

Osaka Bioscience Institute in Japan is one of the newest research institutes
in Japan. The neuroscience department is composed of enthusiastic scientists
with diverse backgrounds. Multi-disciplinary research and individuality is
promoted. The Institute offers post-doctoral positions available from
April of 1996. Contract duration will be for 2 to 3 years. Stipend will be
$38,000 - 40,000/yr, depending on experience. Fringe benefits include
health insurance, language (Japanese) classes, and coverage of transit
expenses including trips to and from Japan. Young (<35 yrs old) candidates with
knowledge and experience in immuno-EM are preferred but those with background
in neurophysiology, neuroanatomy and molecular biology also are welcomed.
The research field will be (i) development and plasticity of the
striate cortex and (ii) large-scaled reorganization of cortical function.
