Dear Dr. Chan:
Could you please post the following query on CVNET?
I am looking for an inexpensive way to produce standard illuminant C
lighting conditions in the lab. Although Higgins et al. (1978; in
Verriest, G. (Ed.), Modern problems in ophthalmology) describe how a 100-W
incandescent bulb and a wratten filter (No. 78AA) can be used as a
substitute for a source like the Macbeth lamp, unfortunately the filter
does not seem to be available anymore. The Kodak people we talked with
were unable to suggest a substitute filter as they were unable to locate
the specs on the 78AA filter. Any help in this regard would be
appreciated.
Sincerely,
Keith Humphrey
