Subject: New SFBR Web Page
This is to announce the Southwest Foundation's Web Page (www.sfbr.org). In
addition to brief descriptions of our institution and its research depart-
ments, it contains a number of items that may be of general interest to
CompMed subscribers, including:
1. An introduction to Julia Hilliard's B-Virus laboratory and a description
of its diagnostic services.
2. Description and FTP access to our pedigree management software. At the
moment this is limited to Pedigree/Draw 4.4 for the Macintosh, but will
soon be joined by Macintosh, Sun Microsystems Unix, and DOS/Windows
versions of PEDSYS 2.0, our pedigree data management package.
3. A description of an NIH funded visiting scientist program, designed to
introduce investigators and colony managers to colony pedigree management
and statistical genetic methods for detecting and localizing genes that
influence complex quantitative phenotypes (morphological and physiolog-
ical measures, disease states, etc.).
These may be found under the 'Software, Resources, Seminars & Notices' link
on the Home Page.
This is a new page, so please let us know of any difficulties encountered in
accessing its contents, or in downloading files through FTP.
