AUTOMATED VISION TESTERS - HOW GOOD ARE THEY?

I am interested in any comments or research results anyone might have on
automated vision testers, particularly those used to test drivers' vision
in DMV offices. The systems produced by Titmus, Optec and Juno are the
ones I am most interested in gathering information on since these three
test both VA and peripheral visual field (sort of). How accurate and
reliable are these devices? How well do they detect individuals with
field defects? Some of the devices also have some form of colour vision
test. How accurate are these tests, generally?
Are there any major disadvantages/advantages of one model over another?

Comments are welcome from anyone who has worked with these devices or done
research on them. Please contact me at ecasson@aix1.uottawa.ca. If
there is any interest, I will edit the comments I get and make them
available on CVnet. Many thanks.
