For Dr. Danielson & the List:

The old X-chrome idea might be helpful. Use a ruby red lens or a
green lens over one eye. The monocular shift in the luminosity curve
when summated binocularity can help many color deficient patients
differentiate colour on the basis of brightness. You don't need a
contact lens. Just a colored filter in front of one eye. Hope this
may be of some benefit.
