Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences
University of Illinois at Chicago
Chicago, IL

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position on an
NEI-funded project that investigates the pathophysiology of hereditary
retinal degenerations, primarily retinitis pigmentosa. The position will be
available on September 1, 1996. Preference will be given to applicants with
experience in programming in C for the Macintosh. This research project is
being carried out in collaboration with an ophthalmologist who specializes
in hereditary and acquired retinal diseases, and the position provides an
excellent opportunity to learn techniques of visual psychophysics and
electroretinography as applied in a clinical setting. The Department of
Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences also has an active group of basic
scientists whose research interests include photoreceptor biochemistry,
molecular biology of retinal degenerations, and retinal electrophysiology,
and there are opportunities for interaction through departmental seminars
and collaborative research projects. Please send a CV, the names of three
references, and a summary of research interests and experience to:
