Summer Research Positions for Graduate Students
Cambridge Basic Research (CBR) has available two summer
research positions for graduate students in the areas of cognitive
science, psychophysics, computer vision, human-computer interaction,
geographical information systems, and virtual reality. CBR, a branch
of Nissan Research and Development, Inc., is a laboratory devoted to
basic research on the sensorimotor and cognitive systems relevant to
the "driving experience". Current areas of interest include spatial
learning, control of driving maneuvers, attentional requirements
of driving, measures of driving performance, and determination of
the kinds of information drivers extract from their environment.
(For more information, see our Web site: http://pathfinder.cbr.com/.)
CBR is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, next to the MIT
campus. It has connections to researchers at MIT, Harvard University,
Boston University, and other universities in the Boston area. The
environment is ideal for people interested in new interdisciplinary
approaches to important problems in perception and cognition.
Students will have the opportunity to help CBR researchers with
current projects, and will also be able to develop new lines of
research. To apply, please send a CV and the names (include email
addresses) of two references to: rensink@pathfinder.cbr.com.
Application deadline is 3 May 1996.
