COLOR PSYCHOPHYSICS POST-DOC
Applications are invited for an NEI funded post-doctoral fellowship to work on
color perception in complex scenes. Initial projects will involve experiments
and models of color induction and adaptation in textured and figural scenes.
The laboratory is well equipped with Silicon Graphics workstations, Cambridge
VSG based stimulus generators, Macintoshes, digital cameras,
spectroradiometers, and symbolic math, modeling, and image processing software.
The Research Foundation of the State University of New York, College of
Optometry provides a congenial research atmosphere, an excellent library, and
interaction with colleagues in many areas of vision science. The central
Manhattan location facilitates intellectual, cultural and other activities. An
annual salary of $25,000 is funded from July 1, 1996 to March 31, 1998, and
will be extended contingent on continued funding.
A Ph.D. in any field, background in vision research (psychophysics or
physiology), mathematical maturity, and facility with computers are required.
