PhD STUDENTSHIPS AT ST ANDREWS UNIVERSITY.
Applications are invited for a special BBSRC PhD research studentship
working with Dr Tim Jordan on the following project:
"Investigating the relationship between visual and contextual cues in
visual word recognition".
Special BBSRC studentships are designed to promote postgraduate research
in an area judged to be of high scientific priority and attract a stipend
that is approximately 25% higher than for standard BBSRC studentships.
Applications for PhD research studentships working on other projects with
Dr Jordan are also invited. These projects may be in any area of visual
word recognition, or audio-visual speech recognition with particular
reference to the role of facial movement in speech perception.
All studentships are scheduled to start in September/October, 1996.
Closing date for applications for the BBSRC special studentship is May
17th, 1996, with interviews to be held in June, 1996.
Applications for other studentships should also be submitted by May 17th,
but later applications may be considered.
