I would like to hear from anyone knowledgable re: use of long
wavelengths, i.e., the color red - (an optometrist showed me "red
caps" that are used) to assess foveal sensitivity in macular
degeneration patients. True? If so, what is the fundamental reasoning
behind use of this wavelength in what seems to be an all-cone region?
I am also interested in the apparent use of blue and/or green filters
to improve vision in such patients. ???
