Manager, Human Factors Engineering and HCI Design

Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York, for an experienced
leader in Human Factors Engineering with demonstrated capabilities in
Human-Computer Interface Design.

The responsibilities of the position include supervision and career
development of a highly talented and diverse staff; coordinating user
interface design and human factors engineering support to a wide array
of Kodak product development and innovation activities; and directing
research in user interface design and image quality perception. The
staff includes interface designers, HCI specialists, human factors
engineers, cognitive psychologists, and image quality specialists.
The Manager works in close collaboration with the Industrial Design
and Graphic Design teams on all matters of user-centered product
design, strategy, and brand management. He or she often acts as a
spokesperson on these issues for Kodak with outside companies and with
universities.

The ideal candidates for this position will have demonstrated
significant accomplishments and will be a recognized authority in the
fields of human-computer interface design and human factors
engineering. Candidates must possess a Masters or PhD. in Human
Factors Engineering, Cognitive Sciences, or a related field; and
have at least 15 years of experience in the areas of product design
and human factors engineering. A background in user-centered design
methodologies, software commercialization, human perception and
cognition, and design of experiments is required. The successful
candidate is a team leader and motivator maintaining an environment
characterized by a passion for design and an enthusiastic sense of
purpose; a solid negotiator and communicator able to effect
partnerships with business and technical teams, and a capable
spokesperson for Kodak product design.

Kodak9s worldwide headquarters and primary R&D center are located in
Rochester, New York, also known as the 3World9s Image Centre2 because
of its predominance in imaging technologies. It has a higher
percentage of skilled professionals than most metropolitan areas in
the United States. Greater Rochester is the #1 exporting community

than $13 billion in goods and services.

Relocation to Rochester, New York is required. Salary is competitive.
