Doctoral Position Available in Human Vision Sciece

The "Applied Vison Science" gruop of the Institute of Hygiene and
Applied Physiology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in
Zurich offers a position for a doctoral student / research assistant.
The position is situatet in a research project aiming investigations
about visual perception of depth in man. Main aim of this project is
to quantify contributions of stereopsis and motion parallax to perception
of depth. Part of the instrumentation used in the project has been
published in DISPLAYS Vol. 14(3), 1993: 144 - 149 "A tool for
viewpoint-dependent graphical simulation of 3D space". We are now changing
some parts of the instrumentation in order to allow to assess the role of
displayed (and calculated) 3D frames per second which might affect
perception of depth. As most part of the planned experiments are of
psychophysical nature, a person having a formation in experimental
psychology would best fit the demands.
