POST PROFILE: FACULTY OF HEALTH

DEPARTMENT OF VISION SCIENCES

Post Title: Lecturer (2 posts)

Position in the University: Responsible to the Head of Department

Main Duties

- contribute towards the didactic elements for the undergraduate
programmes in optometry, orthoptics and dispensing optics

- advance the Department's programme of research in Vision Sciences.
Current areas of Departmental interest include anterior eye physiology,
visual psychophysics, ocular motor function and visual development.

Profile of Expected Competencies and Qualifications

- a higher degree

- a record of publication

- clinical/teaching interests in the area of contact lenses, geriatric
(low) vision, ophthalmic instrumentation and diagnostic techniques are
preferred.

As a term of employment, staff may be required to undertake such other
duties and/or hours of work at any Glasgow Caledonian University
establishment as may be required to meet the needs and exigencies of the
University.
