ANNOUNCEMENT OF FEATURE ISSUE ON INFANT VISION
Deadline for submission: September 1, 1996
Optometry and Vision Science, the Journal of the American Academy of
Optometry, is soliciting research papers for publication in a feature issue
on Infant Vision.
The scope of the feature issue covers children from birth to up to age of
five years. In particular, we are interested in manuscripts on the
following topics:
Development
-including acuity and contrast sensitivity, stereopsis/binocularity,
color, and refractive error
Childhood diseases
- including squint, amblyopia, cataract, glaucoma, and other
congenital & developmental diseases
Screening
-including techniques, effectiveness, public health significance,
prevalence
New Technology
- including VEPs, photo-refraction, and MRI
While the primary emphasis is on clinical studies and other work on human
subjects, results from animal models are solicited. Case reports and
theoretical papers are also encouraged. However, review articles should
not be submitted without prior consultation with the Editorial Office.
Complete manuscripts of previously unpublished research should be prepared
according to the instructions to authors published in Optometry and Vision
Science. Indicate that your paper is being submitted for this special
issue - scheduled for Spring 1997. Manuscripts will be subjected to peer
review under the editorial guidance of:
