ANNOUNCEMENT OF FEATURE ISSUE ON VISUAL OPTICS

Optometry and Vision Science, the Journal of the American Academy of
Optometry announces a Call For Papers for a feature issue on the topic of
Visual Optics to be published in early 1997. The purpose of this feature
issue is to highlight current research on the optical properties of the eye
and the impact of that research on optometry and vision science.
Papers on visual optics will include studies of the natural optics of the
eye as well as the application of optics and optical principles to the
diagnosis and treatment of ocular and visual conditions. Topics include
the mathematical and statistical description of refractive errors,
aberrations of the eye and their correction, corneal topography technology,
optics of laser corneal surgery, optics of the aging eye, optics of
ophthalmic instrumentation and fundus imaging, optical quality of the eye,
eye models, optical correction of presbyopia, changes in optical
characteristics and performance of the eye with accommodation, and related
topics.
Complete manuscripts of previously unpublished research should be prepared
according to the instructions to authors published in Optometry and Vision
Science. Manuscripts will be subjected to peer review under the editorial
guidance of:
