PhD POSITION ON RETINAL INFORMATION PROCESSING AVAILABLE
At the Dept of Exp. Ophthalmology of the University of Tuebingen Eye
Hospital, Tuebingen, Germany, a position is available for a PhD student.
The successful applicant should participate in experiments concerning the
information processing in the retina and lateral geniculate nucleus of
primates. The techniques we use are: extracellular recording in the LGN
of new world primates; psychophysical experiments with human observers;
ERG recordings on men and monkeys. We use a computer driven monitor as
stimulator.
We expect some knowledge on electrophysiology and programming skills.
The position is funded by the German Research Council (Deutsche
Forschungsgemeinshaft). The net salary will be about 23.000 DMarks p.a.
Tuebingen is a small town in the southern part of Germany. It has an old
university and a lively neurobiology community. It has is situated in a
nice and very interesting environment (e.g. near the Black Forest).
