A full-time position is available October 1, 1996 to contribute to
the development of a retinal prosthetic device. The position
involves surgical implantation of microphotodiode arrays into animal
models of photoreceptor degeneration and subsequent evaluation of
prosthesis-based function. Experience in biomedical engineering,
visual electrophysiology and/or animal behavior is preferred. This
position is funded for 3 years with substantial opportunity to
develop a related independent program within the US Department of
Veterans Affairs and at the adjacent Loyola University of Chicago
