POSTDOCTORAL OPENING AT McGILL VISION RESEARCH UNIT
A postdoctoral position is available immediately at the McGill Vision
Research Unit
in Montreal. The project is in the area of human psychophysics and
specifically deals with the role of colour vision in stereopsis and the
detection of camouflaged objects (defined by motion, stereopsis and form).
The psychophysical experiments will involve the use of the PC-based VSG2/3
Framestore graphics card. Macintosh computers are also available for data
analysis and word processing. Candidates with experience in colour vision
and/or VSG graphics programming will be preferred. The appointment will be
initially for one year, renewable to three, at the MRC salary scale of
$23,500.
The McGill Vision Unit is a specialised research facility of around 15
faculty, postdocs and graduate students, all researching into vision. The
unit combines expertise in psychophysics, neurophysiology, computer
modelling and brain imaging. Montreal is also a very pleasant, safe and
relatively inexpensive city to live in.
