RESEARCH FELLOW/RESEARCH ASSISTANT:
HUMAN VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
Two posts are available to join the Visual Development Unit, an MRC-
supported research team studying development of brain mechanisms
underlying visual perception and cognition in babies and young
children. The Unit studies both normal development and developmental
problems in neurological and ophthalmological clinical groups.
Applicants should be graduates in a relevant discipline.
The Research Fellow (postdoctoral level) will carry out independent
research in one or more of the group's projects on: development of
motion & stereo processing; visual object organization in infancy;
visuo-motor modules controlling manual actions; relationship of dorsal
and ventral stream cortical function; development of attentional control
processes; visual structure-function relationships in at-risk clinical
groups.
The Research Assistant will work with members of the Unit in
setting up, testing children, data analysis and project management
for a number of these studies.
Both posts: experience an advantage in: child development, research on
vision and/or motor behaviour, EEG/evoked potential recording, use of
computers for control, displays, data analysis. Salaries up to pt.12 of
RA1A/1B scale (20677 pounds + 2134 pounds London allowance).
