Dear Hoover:
Could you please post the attached ad on CVnet?
Thanks,

POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW - Visual Neurophysiology
I am searching for a bright and energetic Ph.D. interested in the role
played by retinal ganglion cells in the representation of visual images by
higher mammals. The ideal candidate would be experienced in
electrophysiology and willing to learn to perform surgery on cats or
primates. Anatomical experience and a strong
background in programming, electronics or quantitative science would also be
very advantageous to someone joining my laboratory. It is anticipated that
the successful candidate would develop, over the course of about three
years, into a fully independent researcher. The current emphasis of the
laboratory is the
characterization of visual information coding by retinal ganglion cells. A
number of approaches to address this question are employed: extracellular
recordings from anesthetized animals, anatomical studies, and intracellular
recordings from an in vitro retina (in preparation).
Proposed start date: July 1, 1997
Interested candidates should send their curriculum vitae and the names,
addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of three references by December
1, 1996 to J.B. Troy (address below). Competitive salary. Women or
minority candidates are encouraged to apply. Northwestern University is an
Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
