RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION IN VISUAL PSYCHOPHYSICS
/COMPUTATIONAL VISION, Department of Psychology, University of
Minnesota
We invite applicants for a postdoctoral research-associate
position in the vision laboratories, emphasizing psychophysical
and computational studies of object recognition. Essential
qualifications are a Ph.D. (completed by start date of
appointment) specializing in vision research, including two years
of research experience using psychophysical and/or computational
methods, knowledge of computer programming and of research
literature on object recognition, and preparation of scientific
publications. Desired qualifications include knowledge of
sensory processes, familiarity with computer graphics, and SGI
workstations.
This one-year, 12-month, 100% time academic appointment as a
Research Associate is funded by an NIH grant to Gordon Legge and
Daniel Kersten. Continued funding for a second year is contingent
upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. The
salary range is from $30,000 to $34,000 a year, depending on
experience and qualifications. The start date is Feb. 15, 1997,
or soon therafter.
