Deakin University, Australia, is offering several postdoctoral
fellowships commencing in 1997. The positions are for three
years and are subject to annual review of performance.

The School of Psychology at Deakin University includes
several active researchers in visual and auditory perception
who are willing to sponsor applications from suitable candidates.
Successful candidates will be able to work with one or more
of the following researchers:

Boris Crassini colour, form, aftereffects,
motion, infant vision.

Alex Mussap perceptual grouping, motion,
form, spatial vision.

Partick Flanagan colour, binocular vision/rivalry,
auditory-visual integration.

Equipment available for immediate use by the successful
candidate includes a stereo-capable VSG (Cambridge board)
system, a Macintosh-based advanced graphics system and an
anechoic, sound-attenuating room with double hoop
stimulus-presentation system which includes Polhemus
head-tracker response measurement system.

Experience with programming in C on either Macintosh and/or
DOS-based systems would be viewed favourably.

Salary is AUS $40,899 (approx. US $32,712), but appointment at higher
levels is possible. Travel and removal expenses of up to AUS $5,000
(approx. US $4,000) are provided. Research support of AUS $6,000 pa.
(approx. US $4,800) is also provided including superannuation and leave
entitlements.

Deakin University is located in the city of Geelong (in the state
of Victoria). The university is in close proximity to a scenic
bay and to popular ocean surf beaches.
