A short-term Research Assistantship is offered to fill a sudden vacancy in =

Department of Physiology in Cambridge, England to complete a=20
psychophysical project sponsored by Fight for Sight into "The roles of the=
=20
phase and amplitude of natural images in Amblyopia". The post can be at=20
pre-doctoral or junior post-doctoral level for 8 months only, at a pro rata=
=20
annual salary of =9C14317 (UK Sterling, under review) to =9C15986, dependin=
g=20
upon age.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of =
the=20
project and will supervise visual discrimination experiments on amblyopic=
=20
subjects recruited from the University, as well as performing experiments o=
n=20
himself/herself. Computational simulation of the results is also expected.=
=20
The candidate must be a keen and observant experimenter, and will be=20
expected to begin work on the project as soon as possible since the amblyop=
ic=20
observers whom we have recruited are now ready to perform their=20
experiments. In order that the project can be completed in the short time=
=20
remaining, it would be a very great advantage for the candidate to have a=
=20
good knowledge of Pascal programming, visual psychophysics, image=20
processing and natural image statistics.
