It is with deep regret that I have to inform the vision science community of
the sad and tragic death of Professor Keith Ruddock. Keith died on the
morning of Friday 20th December following a traffic accident near his home
late on Thursday 19th. His funeral will be an intimate family function in
South Wales where he was brought up. At the family's request any donations
will be used for a memorial function in the New Year. Any donantions can be
sent to Mrs Anne Graham, Biophysics Section, Physics Department, Imperial
College, London, UK. Any messages of sympathy can be sent by email to me
(a.morland@ic.ac.uk) and will be passed on to Mrs Ruth Ellis (Keith's sister
and next of kin).
For those many of you who have worked with or met Keith, I apologize for you
learning of his death in this way. We here at Imperial College have been
attempting to contact directly as many people as possible, but many people
particularly those abroad will not have heard from us. I will post further
information concerning the memorial function in the New Year.
