SRL, Inc. expects to hire a vision scientist/engineering psychologist to
support ongoing programs in visual spatial orientation, optical radiation,
and other research areas. We support the Human Systems Center of
the Armstrong Laboratory, Brooks Air Force Base, TX. The position
involves both applied and basic research.

Current and future projects include research on visual/vestibular
illusions to be conducted in a motion-based flight simulator,
psychophysical modeling of visual performance impairment from
low-level laser glare on aircraft canopies, a study on visual control of
low-altitude flight, performance measurement of airborne
command-and-control crews, research on teleoperation/remote piloting
of uninhabited aircraft, and a new research program on brain imaging
(PET/fMRI/ERP) during exposure to visual self-motion stimuli.

Qualification requirements and the job title are flexible. We are
interested in a candidate who has completed the Ph.D. Desired abilities
and qualifications include mathematical/image analysis skills and
experience conducting psychophysical experiments and modeling
psychophysical data. Any or all of the following will also be valued:
experience piloting driving simulators, flying simulators, remotely piloted
vehicles, or real aircraft; work experience supporting U.S. Air
Force/Government laboratories; and work experience with virtual
