Lecturer in Psychology (Behavioural Neuroscience)

The appointee will be expected to develop a vigorous,
independently funded, research program and to supervise
honours and postgraduate projects. Research may be in any
area of behavioural neuroscience, but with an understanding of
current progress across the breadth of this field. Initially,
the appointee will be responsible for teaching physiological
psychology to second year students and neuropharmacology to
postgraduate students. Ideas for the second year curriculum
may be submitted as part of the application.

Applicants must have a completed PhD and a track record of
internationally competitive research, and must conduct a
research program that can be accommodated within the first
class facilities in the department. Applicants must also have a
strong background of teaching at a tertiary level. Preference
may be given to applicants whose research interests
complement those of staff in physiological psychology,
learning, comparative cognition and perception.

The position is available from 1 June 1997 for a fixed-term of
five years, with the possibility of conversion to tenure.

Salary range; Level B (Lecturer) $43,042 to $51,113 per
annum.
