POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - Eye Movements
Applications are invited for a research psychologist or motor physiologist
to work on a 5 year programme grant on frontal lobe and basal ganglia
control of oculomotor and somatomotor movement funded by the Wellcome
Trust, under the direction of Professor Christopher Kennard and Professor
Leslie Henderson. Applicants should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in
Psychology or a related discipline and previous experience in eye movement
behaviour would be an advantage. In addition to motor behaviour the research
will also integrate neuropsychological research on patient groups
manifesting focal cortical (especially frontal) lesions and various basal
ganglia disorders. The post is available for 16 months in the first
instance. The research worker, who will join an established research
team (consisting of neurologists, psychologists and engineers), would be
expected to participate in the design and execution of novel
experimental paradigms in motor research.
The research will be conducted in the Department of Clinical Neuroscience,
Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, University of London, which
has fully equipped eye movement, somatomotor and neuropsychology
laboratories.
Starting date: May 1997. Starting salary will be within
#16 628 - #20 677 plus #2 134 London Allowance per annum, depending on age
and experience.
