UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD McDONNELL-PEW CENTRE FOR COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENCE
RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP
The Oxford McDonnell-Pew Centre offers a Research Studentship to start in= =20 October 1997, leading to the DPhil degree. The research project must be in= the=20 broad area of cognitive neuroscience and should involve collaboration betwe= en=20 different research groups and preferably joint supervision. The Studentshi= p is=20 tenable in any Department at the University of Oxford, but could involve so= me=20 work elsewhere.
Support will cover college and university fees (at the UK/EC rate), and=20 subsistence at the same rate as the MRC. In addition, a grant of up to #2,= 000=20 in the first year and #1,000 per annum thereafter is made available for res= earch=20 expenses. The award will be for three years in the first instance. Ideally, candidates should approach their proposed supervisor(s) directly a= nd=20 the student and supervisor(s) should then submit the following:
=B7 a brief summary (one page) of the research proposal, together with a fe= w key=20 references
=B7 details of the (joint) supervision arrangements, the facilities and gra= nt=20 funding available for the research =20 =B7 a brief curriculum vitae for the student
=B7 two confidential letters of reference, sent directly to the address bel= ow.
