This email is to announce a POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
at YORK UNIVERSITY in TORONTO, CANADA
POSTDOCTORAL research position at York University (Toronto) to work on
a project concerning the perception of self motion. This project is
funded by a NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council
of Canada) collaborative project grant. We use computer graphics and
head-mounted displays to provide a visual simulation of motion as well
as real physical motion to assess the relative contributions of
various senses to the accurate perception of self motion.
Qualifications: The ideal applicant has a Ph.D. in either computer
graphics or psychophysics with specialization in immersive
environments. Experience with Silicon Graphics Machines and an ability
to program advanced graphics in C would be a strong advantage.
This is a one year position, possibly renewable for a second year.
Salary would be around $30,000 depending on qualifications.
Possibilities might exist for part time teaching in either the
computer science or psychology departments.
