2 PhD studentships available to do research in
the Laboratory of Experimental Psychology at
the University of Leuven (Belgium)
----------------------------------------------------------
The topics of research for the PhD studentships are tied to a
recently approved and financed project on visual processing and
remembering of art stimuli. One PhD student will work on the problem
of how people encode art stimuli to allow retrieval from memory
afterwards. A possible application related to this basic question
is to support user-friendly retrieval tools for CD-ROMs with art
catalogues. A second PhD student will work on the problem of how
people encode 3D objects such as sculptures. A possible
application related to this basic question is to support natural
visualization of sculptures as a sequence of basic 2D views with
some additional animation based on simple interpolation.
