Applications are invited for a research assistant to work on visual
perception, memory, and attention.

The person appointed would help in the daily running of a
laboratory belonging to Anne Treisman, programming and preparing
experiments, organizing a subject pool and running subjects, analyzing
data, cooperating with graduate students, taking part in lab meetings and
discussions, and doing some library searches. Programming skill with
Macintosh computers essential (not just word-processing), and B.A. with
courses in Psychology preferred. The position offers opportunities for
participation in experimental design and reporting. It would give the
holder some experience of research in a variety of topics in experimental
psychology, which could be a useful preparation for graduate school or
professional training in related areas. There may also be some work with
patients and/or with fMRI. The position is for one year in the first
instance, with the hope of renewal. Starting date around August 15th,
1997. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
