Because of the delay in publication of our advertisement, the deadline
for applications for the Schnurmacher Post-doctoral fellowship has been
extended for one month. See below:
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN VISION SCIENCES
The Schnurmacher Institute for Vision Research at the College of
Optometry, State University of New York, invites applications for a
two-year postdoctoral fellowship starting July '97.
The fellow will work in one of the following laboratories: (1) Kenneth
J. Ciuffreda: Multi-sensory nystagmus oculomotor therapy.
Myopia/accommodative interactions and therapeutic interventions on
myopia development. (2) Peter Reinach: Cytokine receptor mediated cell
signaling and gene expression related to corneal epithelial renewal.
(3) Mark Rosenfield: Prevalence and etiology of young-adult onset
myopia, particularly with respect to the performance of sustained near
work. (4) Robert Sack: Composition and function of the tear film. Study
of external ocular surfaces. Inflammatory and immune dynamics of the
closed eye. (5) Dean Yager: Investigations of parameters of text
presentation and their effects on reading speed and comprehension in
normal and low vision subjects. (6) Qasim Zaidi: Basic and clinical
studies of color perception in complex scenes.
Stipend with be commensurate with NIH-NRSA support levels. Applicants
should send a current resume, three letters of recommendation,
representative reprints or preprints, and a letter of interest to:
