POSTDOCTORAL POSITION at the UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER
Limits of Spatial and Color Vision
A postdoctoral position is available in David Williams' laboratory
in the Center for Visual Science at the University of Rochester. My group
is interested in exploring the neural mechanisms of color and spatial
vision that can be revealed by greatly reducing optical blur in the normal
human eye. For this purpose, we have constructed an adaptive optics system
that can correct the aberrations of the eye, including those not corrected
by glasses. This system provides the eye with unprecedented retinal image
quality when viewing arbitrary visual stimuli. We invite someone to join
our team who has a Ph.D. and a strong background in the psychophysics of
color and spatial vision, in the constraints imposed on performance by
early stages in the visual pathway, or in perceptual learning. Expertise in
optics is not required. Salary is negotiable.
The Center for Visual Science at the University of Rochester has a
large and collaborative community of vision scientists. For more
